Muskegon County Habitat for Humanity is a faith based organization that was founded on the premise that everyone deserves a safe, decent and affordable place to live.
Based on that belief, MCHFH works with local churches, businesses, organizations, individuals and partnering low-income families to build and renovate area homes. Since 1985 this effort has totaled 102 homes for struggling families in Muskegon County. In 2016, at least, 2 more families will partner with MCHFH to purchase a Habitat home!
Habitat families work along side volunteers on build sites and within the organization for, at least, 275 hours, earning sweat equity which is used toward the down payment on their new home. They then purchase completed homes with an affordable monthly payment.
